Capturing the mood and wonder of watercolours

New Acrylic Paintings

Getting inspiration from other plein air artists at the CPAWS Dumoine River Art Camp, has inspired me to create these two new acrylic paintings at Mill Pond (Rideau Valley Conservation Authority), and at Jack Pine Trail, Ottawa.  It is my first introduction with this medium, requiring a vastly different approach than with watercolour. As with both mediums however, I am trying to capture the essence of the scene in simple terms and that feeling of light shimmering through the trees.
