Morning Paddle, 11h 25w

With over two decades of experience as a watercolourist, Vic Dohar specializes in portraying the beauty of nature, the countryside, and the wilderness. As a self-taught artist, he continually explores the expressive potential of this medium. He also shares his expertise through workshops, guiding aspiring artists in watercolour techniques. Vic regularly exhibits his work in the Ottawa area, where he is recognized for his ability to capture the mood and wonder uniquely achievable with watercolours. He obtained his Fellowship with the Ottawa Watercolour Society in 2009, and more recently in 2025, was elected as a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour.

Growing up as a child, he was also influenced by his late father Joseph Dohar, who himself was a landscape artist.

Vic Dohar’s late father, Joseph Dohar, poses beside one of his paintings of the Dakota Mill, north of Burlington, Ontario sometime during the 1970’s.
